HAWTHORNE – Two teens were injured during a shooting at a Halloween party Friday night.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department detectives are investigating the shooting that occurred in the community of Del Aire, west of Hawthorne.
Deputies from the LASD’s South Sheriff’s Station and Hawthorne Police Department officers were called at 10:10 p.m. Friday to reports of a shooting in the 5300 block of W. El Segundo Blvd. near La Cienega Boulevard, according to Lt Jose Lopez. (see video here)
When they arrived, deputies and officers were told one person had been driven to a hospital with a gunshot wound after an unknown shooter opened fire on some of the partygoers, Lopez said.
Deputies later learned a second victim also sustained a gunshot wound. No suspects were identified.
The LASD will be in charge of investigating the shooting.
