LOS ANGELES – A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday morning on the Harbor (110) Freeway in South Los Angeles.
The crash was reported at 5:53 a.m. on the northbound side of the freeway at Manchester Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner was summoned to collect the body and Caltrans responded to help clear the wreck.
Three lanes were blocked and a SigAlert was issued.
The crash backed up freeway traffic in both directions, with southbound motorists slowing at the crash scene.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
