LOS ANGELES – A pedestrian was struck and killed before sunrise Thursday on the Harbor (110) Freeway in South Los Angeles.
The crash was reported at 5:53 a.m. on the northbound side of the freeway at Manchester Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner was summoned to collect the body and Caltrans employees responded to help clear the wreck.
The victim was later identified by authorities as 38-year-old Rafael Orosco.
Three lanes were blocked and a SigAlert was issued.
The crash backed up freeway traffic in both directions, with southbound drivers slowing at the crash scene.
