PACOIMA – A 53-year-old man who was fatally struck by a driver in Pacoima who fled the scene was identified by county authorities Wednesday.
Juan Villegas Martinez was struck around 10 p.m. Sunday in the 13200 block of Van Nuys Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Martinez was hit near Ralston Avenue by a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup that was southbound on the boulevard.
Martinez, a resident of Pacoima, was crossing the intersection diagonally when he was struck, police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told a videographer the pickup was last seen northbound on Sutter Avenue from Van Nuys Boulevard.
