COMPTON – A man was shot to death after a traffic collision Friday afternoon.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Department deputies with the Compton Station responded to reports of a traffic collision near the intersection of Rosecrans Ave. and N. Willow Ave. around 3:00 p.m.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered the crash escalated into an altercation between the individuals involved in the crash.
During the confrontation, a firearm was discharged, resulting in the fatal shooting of an adult described as a Black male by videographers at the scene.
Deputies secured the scene and began rendering aid, but paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
No suspects were immediately taken into custody, and homicide detectives from the LASD homicide bureau responded.
