HOLLYWOOD – A pedestrian was killed Sunday on a Hollywood street by a motorist who fled the scene.
The hit-and-run crash was reported at 9:03 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Boulevard and Gardner Street, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer David Cuellar.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, Cuellar said.
Erika Edwards, 36, of Van Nuys died at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 9:03 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Boulevard and Sierra Bonita Avenue, according to the county Medical Examiner’s office.
The fleeing vehicle was described as a blue Mercedes-Benz G-class SUV, he said.
FOX11 video showed a white canopy on the side of one of the streets shielding the victim from view as police investigated the crash.
A standing reward of up to $50,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that helps solve a fatal hit and run.
