INGLEWOOD – Hollywood Park officials announced plans Tuesday to construct a movie studio and production facility at the mixed-use development in the shadow of SoFi Stadium, with the facility expected to house the International Broadcast Center for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“The vision for Hollywood Park has always been to build a city within a city combining media, entertainment and technology that will transform the greater Los Angeles area,” Los Angeles Rams Chairman/Owner and Hollywood Park developer E. Stanley Kroenke said in a statement. “We are thrilled to expand the role we will play in the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games by hosting the International Broadcast Center and the global media outlets who will call it home during that summer. Beyond 2028, Hollywood Park Studios will be open to welcome a new industry to our live, work, play destination and bring a little bit of Hollywood to Hollywood Park.”
The initial phase of the Hollywood Park Studios project will cover 12 acres and include five 18,000-square-foot sound stages, two of which will be able to open into a single 36,000-square-foot space. It will also include a three-story, 80,000-square-foot office building, along with an 1,100-vehicle parking structure that will include a 20-foot-high bay on the ground level to accommodate up to 60 trailers to support movie production.

“LA28 is proud to be the inaugural tenant of this new state-of-the- art studio in the heart of Inglewood, a key venue city for the 2028 Games,” LA28 CEO Reynold Hoover said in a statement. “The International Broadcast Center will serve as one of our first fully operational facilities for the Games, capturing every inspiring moment of the LA28 Games. We’re excited to collaborate with our valued partners at Hollywood Park, the Olympic Broadcasting Services, International Olympic Committee, and International Paralympic Committee to create a world-class broadcast hub that will showcase the best of Los Angeles to billions of viewers.”
The project could ultimately include up to 20 stages and another 200,000 square feet of office space.

Sadly the wonder “city within the city” may prove to be another layer of disregard for city residents who are not part of the inner circle of million/billion -aires.
High rise “manhattanish” building on steroids provides TEMPORARY jobs for construction workers.
Who in our midst believes the film/movie industry is not in decline…or that all those with sag cards are guaranteed life time future roles/jobs?
Is everyone still stuck on their being the next “pretty woman” or starlet discovered at the dollar store?
Kroenke can probably survive without additional income.
Consider even as Walmart is on the airwaves bemoaning tariff impacts ….their business report shows a measly $ 2 billion profit yes, profit.
So sorry saving kleenix for our students who will have no neighborhood schools is a tad more worrysome.
On the other hand ….Maybe the first movie production should be about people who see eminent domain, horrid traffic, and still believe stage sets are real houses and tv families are related to each other…would that be like believing Barbie lives in a pink mansion?
