KOREATOWN – Police are investigating what they believe is a gang-related shooting in Koreatown that left a 29-year-old man in critical condition.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded at 4:46 p.m. Wednesday to the area near Vermont and Francis avenues regarding a shooting. When they arrived at the scene, officers learned the victim was walking north on Vermont when the shooter approached him from behind on a scooter and shot him, according to an LAPD officer.
The victim was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics in critical condition.
The shooter left the scene in an unknown direction.
