WESTLAKE VILLAGE – Good Samaritan pulled a man from a burning vehicle early Thursday morning.
Emergency responders from the California Highway Patrol in Moorpark, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, and fire departments from Ventura and Los Angeles counties responded to reports of a fire on the southbound 101 Freeway, just north of Lindero Canyon Road around 3:20 a.m.
When first responders arrived, they found a car engulfed in flames down an embankment. A brother and sister driving to Los Angeles International Airport noticed the fire and stopped to investigate.
The brother heard the screams of the trapped driver and was able to pull him to safety. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with burns and possible broken legs.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
