WESTCHESTER – A local bookstore sustained significant damage after a driver crashed into it early Friday morning.
Firefighters and police responded to a vehicle versus building incident this evening at a bookstore on La Tijera Boulevard. The Los Angeles Fire Department and the Los Angeles Police Department arrived to find a dark-colored sedan engulfed in flames in the parking lot.
Investigators determined that the vehicle had struck “The Book Jewel” located in the 6200 block of 87th Street near LaTijera Blvd.
A male driver was present at the scene but was uninjured.
He was taken into custody by Los Angeles Police Department officers on suspicion of drunk driving.
