CLAREMONT – A couple was uninjured after a driver shot into their car while driving on the 10 Freeway Monday night.
California Highway Patrol officers from Baldwin Park responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting on the eastbound 10 Freeway at Dudley Street in Pomona around 9:45 p.m.
The victim of the shooting managed to pull into a safe location at Norm’s restaurant on Indian Hill Boulevard and Auto Center in Claremont.
Upon arrival, the officers found that the victim’s SUV had a bullet hole in the passenger side window and that the bullet had struck the victim’s jacket. Firefighters evaluated the victim due to debris from the shattered window, but neither the victim nor a female passenger was transported to a hospital.
CHP officers were able to confirm that the shooting took place on North Dudley Street, just off the eastbound 10 Freeway in Pomona.
They assisted the Pomona Police Department in searching for shell casings related to the incident. The Pomona Police Department is now leading the investigation.
As of now, there is no description available for the vehicle involved in the shooting.
