LANCASTER – A pedestrian was pronounced dead after being hit by a hit-and-run driver in Lancaster Thursday evening.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a call regarding a person in the middle of the street near the intersection of 67th Street West and Avenue M in Quartz Hill.
Upon arrival, they found an unidentified individual in the street with injuries suggesting that they had been struck by a vehicle. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
No witnesses were present to provide statements, leaving the details of the incident unclear.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident fled the scene. Homicide detectives have been called to investigate further.
