LONG BEACH – A man suffered upper body injuries when he was struck by an SUV while crossing a Long Beach street and the SUV driver did not stop, authorities said Saturday.
The hit-and-run crash was reported at 8:40 p.m. Friday at Broadway and Alamitos Avenue, according to Long Beach Police Department spokesman Richard Mejia.
The preliminary investigation concluded that the man was crossing southbound across Broadway when he was struck by an SUV northbound on Alamitos, and the driver fled the scene, Mejia said.
Paramedics took the man to a hospital for treatment of injuries not believed life-threatening, he said.
