LOS ANGELES – One person was found dead by Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters in a fire Friday that engulfed a multi-family complex in the Florence-Graham neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Fire crews were sent to 1647 E. 91st St., west of Graham Avenue near Col. Leon H. Washington Park, at 12:17 a.m. Friday regarding a structure fire.
When they arrived, firefighters found the residence engulfed in flames, according to reports from the scene.
After extinguishing the fire, firefighters searched the property. During the search, they located the victim inside the residence, brought them outside, and began life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead, according to LASD Deputy Gabriela Robles.
The name, gender or age of the victim was not immediately known.
The LASD’S Arson and Explosives Unit will conduct an investigation of the fire, Robles said.
