BURBANK – A worker at the Burbank Water Reclamation Plant was found dead at the facility Friday, but a cause of death was not immediately known.
Burbank police and fire officials responded to the facility in the 700 block of North Lake Street around 12:45 p.m. on reports of an unconscious employee, according to the Burbank Police Department.
The employee was declared dead at the scene, with the cause of death yet to be determined.
The person’s name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
Police said that due to the nature of the facility where the death occurred, the plant was evacuated so a hazardous material team could conduct an investigation to “ensure there are no materials that could pose a threat to other employees or the public.”
