CLAREMONT – Two people were killed in a fiery traffic accident early Monday morning.
Claremont Police Department officers and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to a traffic collision with fire at East Sixth Street and Brooks Avenue around 2:20 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers and firefighters found a black Tesla engulfed in flames, with individuals trapped inside.
Two people were pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics. Their identities are being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
A witness claimed the vehicle was traveling at high speed prior to crashing into the tree.
Authorities have not yet determined if alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision.
