ARCADIA – A man was killed Friday morning when the sedan in which he was a passenger crashed into a light pole near an Arcadia intersection.
The crash occurred at about 2:20 a.m. Friday on Baldwin Avenue north of Arboretum Way at the Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanic Garden, according to an Arcadia Police Department press release.
Video from the scene showed a crumpled car tangled up with a downed light pole and Arcadia firefighters putting a drape over the passenger side.
Paramedics pronounced the passenger dead at the scene, police said.
The man driving the car was taken by ambulance to a hospital to be checked for a complaint of pain and possible minor injuries, police said.
