BALDWIN PARK – A pedestrian was fatally struck on a freeway connector road near Baldwin Park Tuesday, prompting the California Highway Patrol to issue a SigAlert.
CHP officers were called at 2:09 a.m. to the transition road from the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway and the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, where they found the pedestrian in the first and second lanes of the freeway connector road, according to CHP Officer Sergio Garcia.
During their investigation of the collision, CHP officers learned the victim was walking on the freeway transition road when he was struck by multiple vehicles.
The CHP issued a SigAlert for the closure of four lanes of the transition road from the eastbound 10 and the northbound 605 for approximately two hours while they investigated the collision.
