LOS ANGELES – A pedestrian was killed and a motorist was rushed to a hospital Saturday in a crash on the Harbor (110) Freeway in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.
Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at 6:34 a.m. Saturday to the southbound freeway at West Third Street, where the pedestrian, a man approximately 40 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
The motorist, a 47-year-old man, was taken to a hospital in fair condition. A 23-year-old man, possibly a passenger inside the vehicle, declined transport to a hospital, officials said.
A Sigalert was issued at 6:50 a.m. closing the southbound freeway for an unknown duration, according to the California Highway Patrol.
