INGLEWOOD – An owner/operator of a McDonald’s location in Inglewood is seeking permission from the Inglewood Planning Commission to expand their drive-thru and I’m LOVIN it!
The McDonald’s is located at 401 W. Manchester Blvd. between Hillcrest Blvd. and Locust Ave. and is notorious for causing problems for patrons parking on the eastside of the building nearest to the drive-thru.
After having read this month’s Planning Commission agenda I noticed the applicant is seeking to expand the drive-thru, most likely to add an additional lane and remove the parking.

I visited the location over the weekend and the only thing I see the applicant needing to accommodate is the relocation of the existing handicapped parking space in the southeast corner of the restaurant.
If you have ever visited this location you understand how easy it is to be stuck in the parking space while the cars in the drive-thru queue to place their order. There is also a hassle when you are leaving (egress) the drive thru due to increased vehicle volume entering (ingress) the queue.
With the increased use of the McDonald’s app, that features exclusive deals and rewards, it increases the amount of cars in the drive-thru who are only there to pickup their food and not necessarily to place an order.
The parking lot itself has ample parking spaces available to accommodate those wishing to go inside the restaurant but again, the most important component of this application is ensuring disabled patrons can still easily access the building.
Overall, the addition of the second lane aligns with other Inglewood locations already utilizing a two lane drive thru (Century & Prairie and Crenshaw & Imperial) and will make entering/exiting this lot much easier for all.
According to the Feb. 5 Planning Commission agenda the item is schedule to be heard on March 5th at 7:00 p.m.

Food waste, packaging waste, and litter.
Drive-thru creates traffic congestion. It’s mesmerizing to see how many fast-food chains are proliferating in Inglewood. I live near La Tijera and La Cienega, which are filled with fast food chains and drive-thru that generate massive traffic congestion. On top of that, they’re the main reason for polluting the environment with their single-use packaging for “hand food” when consumed on the go, as well as food waste, packaging waste, and litter.
Thank you for the reply. That would be great. Fast food chains make a lot of profit in Inglewood but are not accountable for the trash they spread in the area with their packaging. I inquired about this to bring this matter into the spotlight.
The businesses don’t leave trash out, their customers do.
stop eating crap, emilie
I love their french fry’s with an ice cold coke!
