LOS ANGELES – A man was shot to death on the street in a cul de sac in the Los Angeles community of Sunland, and one of the suspects later turned himself in to police authorities said Monday.
The shooting was reported at 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Denivelle Road, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
The victim was walking on the street when he was approached by two vehicles, one black and one white, the officer said. One man got out of each vehicle and fired shots at him. The suspects got back in the vehicles and drove away.
The victim, identified as Edvin Avagyan, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the county Office of Medical Examiner.
One 39-year-old suspect later turned himself in to police, saying the victim was the boyfriend of his ex-wife, the officer said.
