SANTA ANA – A 44-year-old man made his first appearance in court Tuesday on charges of sexually assaulting two girls in Santa Ana more than a decade apart.
Eulalio Najera Benitez was charged Friday with six felony counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14. Benitez was arrested Sunday and made his first appearance on the charges in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana on Tuesday.
Benitez did not enter a plea and his arraignment was rescheduled for Feb. 28 in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.
Benitez is accused of assaulting one of the girls in September 2010, and another girl in September 2021, according to the criminal complaint.
