LOS ANGELES – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Thursday to its highest amount since Oct. 17, increasing 1.7 cents to $4.592, one day after recording its largest increase since April 5, 3 cents.
The average price has risen 11 times in 12 days, increasing 10.1 cents, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It rose a half-cent Jan. 26, four-tenths of a cent Jan. 27, dropped four-tenths of a cent Jan. 28 and resumed increasing Jan. 29.
The average price is 9 cents more than one week ago and 15.2 cents higher than one month ago but 10.9 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.902 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price rose to its highest amount since July 31, increasing 2.1 cents to $4.554, one day after recording its highest increase since Oct. 5, 2.9 cents. The average price has risen 10 consecutive days, increasing 11.9 cents.
The Orange County average price is 10.3 cents more than one week ago and 16.8 cents higher than one month ago but 8.7 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.905 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose 1.3 cents to $3.138, the third consecutive increase following a run of nine decreases in 11 days totaling 3.7 cents. It is 2.1 cents more than one week ago and 7.4 cents higher than one month ago but seven-tenths of a cent less than a year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.878 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
