LOS ANGELES – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Thursday to its highest amount since July 12, increasing 2.9 cents to $4.751, rising for the 18th time in 19 days.
The average price has increased 26 cents over the past 19 days, including 4.1 cents Wednesday, its largest increase since April 5, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It rose a half-cent Jan. 26 and four-tenths of a cent Jan. 27, dropped four-tenths of a cent Jan. 28 and resumed increasing Jan. 29.
The average price is 15.9 cents more than one week ago and 30.2 cents more than one month ago, but 1.8 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.743 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price rose to its highest amount since June 12, increasing 2.6 cents to $4.738, rising for the 17th consecutive day.
The Orange County average price has increased by 30.3 cents over the past 17 days, including 3.9 cents Wednesday. It is 18.4 cents more than one week ago, 35.5 cents more than one month ago and six-tenths of a cent greater than one year ago. It has dropped $1.721 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose for the fourth consecutive day, increasing 1.1 cents to $3.16. It has increased 2.4 cents over the past four days after back-to-back decreases totaling a half-cent. It is 2.2 cents more than one week ago and 9.5 cents higher than one month ago, but 6.5 cents less than a year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.856 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
