LA CRESCENTA – A deputy suffered a gunshot wound Friday when his gun discharged while he prepared for his shift.
The shooting occurred at about 6:45 a.m. at the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station at 4554 Briggs Ave., according to Sgt. John Gilbert.
The deputy was injured in the discharge and taken by ambulance to a hospital where he had stable vital signs, he said.
“The incident is under active investigation, but preliminary information suggests it may have been an unintentional discharge,” Gilbert said.
