LOS ANGELES – A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was shot in what police say was a gang-related shooting in the South Central area of Los Angeles, authorities said Saturday.
Los Angeles Police Department officers from the Newton Division responded at 10:22 p.m. Friday to the 1200 block of East 50th St. between Central and Hooper avenues regarding a shots fired call, where they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, according to an LAPD officer.
The teen was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
There was no suspect description.
