Hollywood Park hosting donation drives and distribution events to bring relief to wildfire victims and contributed $10,000 to UniteHere Local 11’s Hardship Fund for displaced workers
INGLEWOOD – In the wake of the devastating wildfires that have swept through Los Angeles, Hollywood Park Casino (HPC) is rallying alongside local partners and first responders to deliver much-needed aid and hope to those affected.
Demonstrating its commitment to the community, HPC has contributed $10,000 to UniteHere Local 11’s Hardship Fund. This fund provides essential assistance to Union members who have lost their homes or property due to the fires. Additionally, HPC has donated 300 cases of bottled water to evacuation centers across the region, ensuring relief for displaced families and individuals.
“At Hollywood Park Casino, we believe in the power of community and coming together during times of crisis. The recent wildfires have impacted so many lives in Los Angeles, and we felt it was our responsibility to support our communities. These efforts are a testament to our commitment to making a positive impact beyond the walls of our cardroom,” shared Deven Kumar, General Manager at Hollywood Park Casino.
As a gesture of gratitude for the bravery and dedication of first responders, HPC is offering complimentary meals to firefighters throughout January. Firefighters can enjoy a meal of their choice from HPC’s Cardroom Bar and Grill, a small token of appreciation for their tireless efforts in protecting the community during this crisis.
To further extend its support, HPC has organized several key events aimed at providing relief and resources to those in need:
HPC and Mega 96.3fm Donation Drive: On Thursday, January 16, 2025, HPC will partner with Mega 96.3fm radio station to host a Donation Drive at its front entrance from 8am-10am and at the Raise Lounge from 7pm-10pm. Community members are encouraged to drop off feminine products, baby care items, and essential toiletries including: toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, bodywash, shampoo, conditioner, and deodorant.
HPC and Dream Center Donation and Distribution Drive: On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, HPC will team up with the Dream Center to collect and distribute items to fire victims in its outdoor tailgate area from 12pm to 3pm.
Looking ahead, HPC will be supporting the LAX Coastal Chamber’s “Protectors Week,” which recognizes first responders who protect our communities. This year, the event will take place from February 24 through February 28. HPC has committed a donation of $500 which will go toward the purchase of healthy snacks and non-perishable items to first responders.
Hollywood Park Casino remains steadfast in its dedication to supporting the community and those who make it stronger. Through these efforts, HPC hopes to bring relief, gratitude, and hope to those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires.
