TORRANCE – A 28-year-old motorist from Wilmington was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Torrance, authorities said Sunday.
The crash occurred at about 9:40 a.m. Saturday on Torrance Boulevard west of Madrona Avenue, according to Lt. Fareed Ahmad of the Torrance Police Department.
Police said the victim was driving westbound on Torrance Boulevard when he lost control of his 2017 Ford Mustang and struck a westbound 2023 Honda Accord. The Mustang then crossed over to eastbound traffic and struck a 2018 Toyota Highlander and Hyundai IONIQ6.
“Debris from the collision struck a 2024 Hyundai Tucson, also traveling eastbound on Torrance Boulevard,” Ahmad said.
The 28-year-old man, the lone occupant inside the Mustang, was rushed to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The driver of the Honda Accord was not injured. The driver and sole occupants of the Highlander and Hyundai were treated at the crash scene for minor injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
Torrance police urged anyone with information regarding the crash to call them at 310-618-5557.
