NORTH HOLLYWOOD – Police are continuing to investigate a fatal hit-and-run crash that left a woman dead in North Hollywood, just east of Van Nuys.
Los Angeles Police Department officers from the department’s North Hollywood Division were called to the 11700 block of Victory Boulevard and Colfax Avenue at 9:40 p.m. Friday regarding a pedestrian versus vehicle collision. When they arrived, officers learned a vehicle traveling west on Victory struck the victim and drove away from the scene, according to an LAPD officer.
A second vehicle traveling in the same direction struck the victim again and also fled without stopping to render aid.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as 26-year-old Ravenna Leyva who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
There were no vehicle descriptions and the LAPD’s West Traffic Bureau will be in charge of investigating the collision.
The first vehicle was only identified as a sedan, and the second vehicle was described as a light blue or grey 2003 Toyota 4 Runner.
A standing reward of up to $50,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that helps solve a fatal hit-and-run collision.
