LOS ANGELES – A 32-year-old pedestrian who was killed after being hit by a vehicle on a South Los Angeles freeway was identified Tuesday.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office identified the victim as Derek Clay.
The crash occurred around 5:15 p.m. Sunday in the express lane of the Harbor (110) Freeway near West Slauson Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A SigAlert was issued soon after, closing the lane.
It was unclear what Clay was doing on the freeway.
