VALINDA – Two men who were killed in a two-vehicle collision involving a suspected impaired driver in the Valinda area were identified by authorities Thursday.
Carlos Cardona Acosta, 23, and Jossue de Leon Villegas, 21, were pronounced dead by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s office.
The crash occurred around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Temple and North Azusa avenues, where a Jeep driven by a possibly impaired driver slammed into another vehicle. Three people in the second vehicle were killed — two at the scene and a third at a hospital, according to the California Highway.
The names, ages and genders of the victims were not immediately known.
Key News video from the scene showed the Jeep on its side and the other vehicle, a Nissan Versa, heavily damaged and covered with a tarp. The video showed officers taking a female suspect into custody.
The San Gabriel Valley Tribune identified the suspect as Yasmin Flores Magana, 24, of La Puente, and said she was arrested on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
