LAGUNA NIGUEL – Orange County sheriff’s deputies Thursday were searching for a man who stabbed a victim during an attempted carjacking in a Laguna Niguel parking lot.
Deputies were dispatched just after 10 p.m. Wednesday to the Aliso Village Shopping Center at La Paz and Dorine roads, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Matt Timmins.
The victim was taken to an area hospital and was expected to survive his injuries, Timmins said.
The attacker ran away and deputies only had a vague description of the suspect so far, Timmins said. The attacker ran off before he was able to take the vehicle, Timmins said.
ABC7 reported from the scene that the victim was an employee at a Whole Foods market in the center, and some nearby construction workers chased the attacker from the scene.
