LOS ANGELES – Authorities Wednesday identified a 17-year-old boy who died in a shooting near Cypress Park that also killed an 18-year-old man, while detectives continued their efforts to solve the crime.
Officers sent to the 1400 block of Cliff Drive shortly after midnight on the morning of Nov. 7 on an “unknown trouble” call found the two males unconscious with apparent gunshot wounds, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
Both victims died at the scene.
Police on Monday identified the adult victim as Denzel Guzman. And on Wednesday, the younger victim was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Juan Melendez Jr.
There was no description of a suspect, and no details were available on what may have led to the shooting.
