MISSION HILLS – A man was found shot to death in Mission Hills and an investigation was underway Saturday.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called to the 10400 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard, between Devonshire and San Jose streets, at 11:07 p.m. Friday regarding an assault with a deadly weapon.
When they arrived, they found the victim, who police said was 38 years old, lying on the ground near a scooter, according to an LAPD spokesman.
Officers learned upon further investigation that the victim sustained a gunshot wound and a head injury, the latter possibly sustained in a fall, police said.
Witnesses said they saw a man and a woman running away from the crime scene.
The victim was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, where he was pronounced dead.
