LOS ANGELES – A man suffering from a gunshot wound in the Westchester area was taken to a hospital Sunday night.
At about 8:45 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a shooting in the 5500 block of Thornburn Street and Kittyhawk Avenue, just north of the San Diego (405) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers found the victim conscious and breathing, and he was transported to a local hospital. His condition was not immediately available.
The man, sitting inside a car with a woman, accidentally shot himself and unsuccessfully tried to hide the weapon, according to OnScene.TV. However, the cause of the shooting was not confirmed by police.
