INGLEWOOD – The Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation (GLAEF) has selected the inaugural cohort of grantees through The Inglewood Youth Education Fund (IYEF).
The fund is a $12.75 million endowment, established in the summer of 2024, to benefit youth living in Inglewood, California, supporting nonprofit organizations and initiatives working across five critical program areas:
a) After School Tutoring for Inglewood Students
b) Youth Innovation and Design Camps
c) Keeping Inglewood Students in School
d) Opening Pathways to College for Inglewood Students
e) College Scholarships for Inglewood Students
Initial grantees were selected based on their history of service in Inglewood, demonstrated impact, and commitment to the community. Grants will be used to expand existing services, reach more students, and support critical operations.
The 2024 grantees include the following institutions (ranked in alpha order):
- Brotherhood Crusade
- Engineer Factory, a Project of Community Partners
- Environmental Charter Schools (ECS)
- Heads Up Foundation, Inc.
- I’m A Movement Not A Monument
- Inglewood Unified School District
- Our Own
- Pass It Forward Foundation
- Social Justice Learning Institute
- SoLA Robotics
- Urban Scholar Academy
- We Grow Inglewood
In February 2025, GLAEF will announce the next cycle of the grantmaking program, including criteria for funding, timelines, and an ongoing process for community engagement. Future grantees are anticipated to be announced in September of 2025.
