GARDENA – A fire damaged the press box and bleachers next to the football field at Junipero Serra High School in Gardena Wednesday.
The fire was reported about 5:35 a.m. at the campus in the 14800 block of South Van Ness Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Flames could be seen ripping through the roof of the press box and spreading to the bleachers below.
Fire crews had the flames under control in about 30 minutes. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
