EAGLE ROCK – A motorist was killed when her vehicle slammed into a guardrail and rolled down an embankment on the southbound Glendale (2) Freeway in Eagle Rock, the California Highway Patrol reported Tuesday.
CHP officers responded to the crash at 9:39 p.m. Monday near the York Boulevard off-ramp where they learned the driver — who authorities said was wearing blue scrubs — flipped the vehicle several times, according to Officer Ramon Kendricks.
Kimberly Stotzer, 42, of Lantana, Texas, died at the scene, according to the CHP and the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
Two southbound freeway lanes were closed for several hours, along with the York Boulevard off-ramp, while officers investigated the crash.
The CHP issued a SigAlert and ordered the closure of the third and fourth lanes of the northbound Glendale Freeway in vicinity the crash and the York off-ramp for several hours while officers investigated the crash.
