SYLMAR – The driver of a disabled vehicle fell to his death Friday evening from the connector from the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway to the northbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway onto The Old Road in Sylmar.
Officers responded to the connector around 8:10 p.m. after receiving reports about a disabled vehicle. They attempted to assist the driver, but the man fell more than 100 feet to his death, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Details leading up to how the vehicle became disabled or what prompted the man to plummet to his death remain under investigation.
The man’s name was not immediately released, pending notification of relatives.
