NORWALK – Two people killed when a car crashed into a tree off the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Norwalk were identified Monday.
A witness first reported the crash to the California Highway Patrol on Sunday at 11:04 p.m. which was initially reported that the car hit a tree on the Firestone Boulevard off-ramp.
The CHP later reported the crash occurred on the freeway.
Two people died at the scene, according to CHP Officer Sergio Garcia.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later identified them as 30-year-old Naraly Solis and 34-year-old Johnnie Bracamontes.
The Firestone Boulevard off-ramp and lanes 3 and 4 of the southbound San Gabriel River Freeway in the vicinity of the crash were shut down for the investigation and clean-up.
