FULLERTON – A probationer suspected of leading Anaheim Police Department officers on a chase that ended with his car colliding with a Toyota Prius in Fullerton was in custody Friday.
The chase began in Anaheim and extended into Fullerton, ending around 9 p.m. Thursday at Bastanchury Road and State College Boulevard, according to Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Matt Sutter.
Jacob Kilpatrick, 24, ran from the crash scene and was quickly captured by pursuing officers after a struggle and was taken into custody, Sutter said. He remains hospitalized and was arrested on suspicion of felony evading, DUI and hit-and-run.
The woman in the Prius was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange and was expected to survive her injuries, Sutter said. An officer who was involved in the struggle with the suspect was also taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Kilpatrick was on probation for robbery, Sutter said.
