WESTLAKE – A 25-year-old man was killed in a head-on crash with a sedan in the Westlake District, authorities said Saturday.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Rampart Division were called at 11:46 p.m. Friday to the intersection of South Bixel Street and Wilshire Boulevard where they learned the 59-year-old driver of the sedan was traveling north on Bixel when he collided head-on with the motorcycle rider, according to an LAPD spokesman.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were called and pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The motorist remained and cooperated with officers.
The LAPD’s Central Traffic Division will be in charge of the investigation, police said.
