LOS ANGELES – Sheriff’s homicide detectives Thursday are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an inmate at the Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were notified of an inmate who was found unresponsive at 7:22 p.m. Wednesday and investigators responded to the jail at 441 Bauchet St. near Avila Street, the sheriff’s department said.
Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel were called to the scene and pronounced the man dead.
The inmate’s name and age were not released.
