LOS ANGLES – A 61-year-old man who was fatally shot in an unincorporated area east of Inglewood was identified Monday.
Around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, the South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station received a call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon in the 1300 block of 97th Street, between Normandie Avenue and Budlong Avenue, in Westmont.
Deputies who arrived at the scene found the victim seated inside a white sedan parked in the driveway of a residence, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later identified the victim as Ronald Davis.
According to homicide investigators, multiple gunshots were heard in front of the residence and a vehicle was heard speeding away eastbound on West 97th Street.
Details about the suspect and motive were unavailable.
