POMONA – A 67-year-old man who was killed in a fire at a mobile home in Pomona was identified Tuesday.
Officers from the Pomona Police Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department received multiple 911 calls regarding a fire at a mobile home at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday at 1761 E. Mission Blvd, Fox11 reported.
When firefighters arrived, they encountered heavy flames coming from a mobile home to the rear of the complex with the fire spreading to other mobile homes. During a search of the burned mobile unit, they found two victims who were possibly trapped inside the mobile home, according to reports from the scene.
The deceased victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was identified Tuesday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Macias Hernandez Sr. of Pomona.
The other victim, an unidentified woman, was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital with burns to her face and hands.
