IRVINE – A 19-year-old man suspected of a series of apartment burglaries in Irvine was taken into custody Wednesday.
Detectives have been investigating multiple burglaries at the Park West Apartments in the 3900 block of Parkview Lane, near Culver and Michelson drives, since May, where the suspect allegedly targeted the units of young women and would take undergarments, cash, credit card information and small items, according to the Irvine Police Department.
The suspect was later identified as Trung Thuan Tran after detectives linked him to a fraudulent credit card purchase. He was taken into custody on Tuesday and booked at the Orange County Jail on suspicion of burglary and unauthorized use of a credit card.
Detectives believe Tran is possibly connected to other burglaries in the area and were reviewing evidence and additional information to determine if he was responsible for other crimes.
