LOS ANGELES – A man was killed Wednesday when he was struck by a vehicle as he tried to cross the Hollywood (101) Freeway south of Hollywood.
The collision was reported at 2:28 a.m. and California Highway Patrol officers responded to the northbound freeway and Vermont Avenue, where they found the pedestrian lying in one of the freeway lanes, according to CHP Officer Sean Lough.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel.
The CHP issued a SigAlert that closed the northbound freeway for several hours while they investigated the cause of the collision.
