EAST LOS ANGELES – A person was killed Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash on the Pomona (60) Freeway in East Los Angeles that also ignited a small grass fire, authorities said.
Firefighters and paramedics dispatched to the location at about 5:30 a.m. quickly knocked down the fire, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher.
The crash occurred on the eastbound freeway at South Indiana Street, the California Highway Patrol reported. A white sedan caught fire when it struck the center divider, the CHP said.
Paramedics did not rush anyone to a hospital, according to the fire department dispatcher.
A Sigalert issued at 5:55 a.m. closing the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes of the eastbound freeway was canceled at 9:32 a.m.
