LOS ANGELES – A man was killed while walking inside a crosswalk in a Jefferson Park intersection by a motorist who drove away from the scene, authorities said Monday.
The man was walking northbound across Adams Boulevard at Gramercy Place when an eastbound vehicle struck him and kept going, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified the man as Los Angeles resident Geraudis William Perez, 34.
A description of the vehicle was not immediately available.
A reward of up to $50,000 is available from Los Angeles’ Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund for information leading to the identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise for drivers in fatal hit-and-runs.
