LOS ANGELES – A male was killed on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Sunland, authorities said Monday.
The crash occurred at 10:55 p.m. Sunday on the southbound Golden State Freeway at Sunland Boulevard, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Sergio Garcia.
Garcia said he did not have details of the crash or the age of the male.
A news videographer at the scene said the deceased was a pedestrian. Video showed a sheet-covered body in the far right lane.
The CHP issued a SigAlert shutting down southbound lanes 2, 3 and 4 but allowing traffic in the HOV and lane 1 during the investigation. The lanes were reopened at about 3:15 a.m.
